From Frondizi to Milei, 22 agreements and a long history of loans and negotiations with the IMF

Argentina formally joined the IMF on September 20, 1956. By decree, the then de facto president Pedro Eugenio Aramburu ordered that the country begin the process (in April of that year) to join the multilateral organization, which had been created in December 1945 within the framework of the Bretton Woods agreements and with the participation of 29 countries, after the Second World War.
