Through Decree 438/23, published on August 30, 2023, in the Official Gazette, the national government formalized the decision to implement a non-wage subsidy of $60.000 for workers regulated by the laws and professional statutes of the private sector, as well as public sector workers performing duties in the jurisdictions and agencies belonging to the national Executive Branch. Finally, after heated exchanges between the Casa Rosada (the presidential palace) and many provinces, and strong criticism from the private sector, the published text changed from the original official announcements, which had even revealed contradictions among officials themselves. Ultimately, provincial and local jurisdictions were authorized to participate voluntarily.
