Program Overview

From Vine to Cane is an immersive academic experience that uses Salta’s high-altitude wine and sugar industries as real-world business cases to explore how regional value chains, territory and cultural identity can create competitive advantage and open opportunities in international markets. 

 

The program combines academic preparation in Buenos Aires with three days of field immersion in Salta, where students explore high-altitude viticulture, sugar agroindustry, cultural heritage and tourism. Through winery and agroindustry visits, guided observation, executive workshops and cultural experiences, students connect commercial strategy with the realities of regional production and development.

The Immersive Experience

Three Days in Salta. Two Value Chains. One Regional Business Ecosystem. 

Students apply the 5D Commercial Strategic Design Methodology during winery and sugar-mill visits, guided field observation, executive workshops and tastings. 

 

The field experience explores Salta's wine and sugar ecosystems through value-chain analysis, sustainability, innovation, cultural heritage, tourism and international positioning. Students then return to Buenos Aires to transform their observations into strategic analysis and a final project.

Additional Information

DAY 1 — Buenos Aires 

Academic Preparation 

Introduction to the 5D Commercial Strategic Design Methodology, global wine-market context, major producers, consumption trends and field-preparation workshop.  

 

DAYS 2–4 — Salta 

Field Immersion 

Day 2: Salta’s ecosystem, high-altitude wine business and value chain. 

Day 3: Sugar agroindustry and its value chain from cane to commercialization, combined with cultural heritage and tourism experiences. 

Day 4: Sustainability and innovation in viticulture and agroindustry, with a focus on strategy and international positioning. 

 

DAY 5 — Buenos Aires 

Strategic Integration 

Insight harvest, strategic analysis and final presentations, with a visit to Campus Pilar. 

By the end of the program, students will be able to:
