New publications from the CIG

The Center for International Strategies of Governments and Social Organizations (CIG) launched a series of digital publications such as strategic tools designed to build specialized knowledge and foster a comprehensive vision of subnational international actionThese publications reflect the CIG's commitment to its core mission: to provide comprehensive support to governments and social organizations in developing their international projection strategies, while producing excellent academic knowledge.

 

The CIG works around three fundamental axes that guide all its initiatives:

Training and education.

Research and promotion.

Technical assistance.

The new publications represent a significant effort to consolidate the CIG's role as a leading authority in the field of subnational internationalization. Each document has been designed to offer practical and theoretical tools that will enable local, provincial, and regional actors to address the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world.

International Capabilities Index

It seeks to highlight the relationship between internationalization and subnational development. Furthermore, it is a practical global benchmarking tool that allows city and provincial governments to identify opportunities to maximize the benefits of internationalization and promote greater professionalization of subnational international action.

This guide is a practical tool for strengthening the international engagement of cities and provinces in a global context where the role of these governments is increasingly prominent. It covers the internationalization of local governments, the dimensions of city and regional government diplomacy, the development of internationalization as a public policy, and action planning as an instrument for change.

A report from the Federal Council for Foreign Relations and International Trade

It traces the creation of the Council and its actions over the last 4 years, to evaluate its functioning and identify and project the improvements that this subnational level tool needs to be more efficient in the future.
