The 6th International Relations Conference was held

The School of Politics, Government and International Relations of the Universidad Austral The University of Arequipa (UA), together with the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI) and the Royal European Academy of Doctors (RAED), organized a new edition of the International Relations Conference on October 20th. During the event, the invited speakers addressed three main themes: global scenarios, the Latin American landscape, and Argentine foreign policy.

The hybrid event took place in the Belgrano Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship and included the participation of officials and academics from the organizing entities and invited specialists from CONICET, UNR, the Government of Spain, UNQ, the Eulac Foundation, CAF, among others; and with the distinguished presence of authorities, teachers and students from the Universidad Austral, in their undergraduate and master's degree programs and representatives from various public and private national and provincial universities.

The ceremony was presided over by Alfonso Santiago, Director of the School of Politics, Government and International Relations of the Universidad Austral, accompanied by Pablo Delgado, Secretary of Coordination and Foreign Planning MRECIC, Francisco de Santibañes, Vice President of CARI and Jose Ramon Calvo, President of the Institute of International Cooperation of the Royal European Academy of Doctors (RAED).

The opening of the meeting was led by Dr. Santiago, who expressed his gratitude and began the day's events: “Once a year we leave our usual activities to join the global stage and observe what the main events, trends and novelties are that are present there…And when we do this exercise, we invite our students, professors, graduates and friends to join this intellectual adventure.”

For his part, Delgado thanked everyone present and celebrated the holding of these meetings: “The important thing about these spaces for dialogue is being able to listen to the opinions of society…of the academic community, the cultural community, religious societies, students, participants…of the community in general…Any public policy needs corrections; to correct deviations, to reformulate them, to adapt them to current contexts; and this cannot be done without listening to the opinion of society.”

Before the lectures began, Manuel Muñiz , from Spain, gave a sharp analysis of the new international order and the profound transformations taking place as a result of China's current supremacy.

Then the panels took place, in which the following participated: Sofia del Carril (Director of the Master's Program in International Relations), Said Chaya (Coordinator of the Middle Eastern Studies Center at Universidad Austral) and Verónica Fiuza, who served as moderators on the event panels; Ricardo Lagorio (Secretary General of CARI and Professor at the UA), Santiago Castellá (Senator of the Kingdom of Spain), santiago herrera (Legal Undersecretary of the MRECIC), Adrian Bonilla (Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation), Carola B. Ramón (Director of the Latin American Affairs Committee of CARI – Undersecretary of Federal Planning MECON), Aldana Rohr (Director of International Legal Assistance, MRECIC), Esteban Actis (Teacher and researcher at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations of the UNR), Florencia Rubiolo (Independent Researcher at CONICET), Patricio Carmody (Specialist in International Relations and consulting member of CARI and CIPPEC), Juan Battaleme (UA Professor - CARI Academic Director), Celina Pena (Economist – Expert in international economic integration), Paola Di Chiaro (Co-founder of the Argentina Global Foundation. Professor at Austral, Belgrano and UBA universities), Alejandro Corbacho (Director of the Political Science Program at UCEMA | Professor at the Argentine Navy War College | Director of the UCEMA Security and Defense Observatory) and Jerónimo Morales Rins (Professor of the Universidad Austral).
