Pain often serves as an awakening to philosophical questions. It could well be said that pain is an uncomfortable way to become philosophers. Today, we all find ourselves collectively assailed by the same philosophical questions. The tedious questions one once encountered in a philosophy book are transformed into painful dilemmas that life confronts us with.
