The campus of the Universidad Austral Pilar will host the 29th National Civil Law Conference on September 26, 27, and 28. The conference's conclusions will lead to new legal doctrine in the field of Civil Law, which will influence both judicial decisions and the development of new legislative reforms.
Pilar, June 5, 2024 – The National Civil Law Conference has been held every two years since 1963, and for 2024, the Campus of the Universidad Austral Pilar will host its twenty-ninth edition on September 26, 27, and 28. The topics to be addressed in the committees will be broad: monetary obligations, damages arising from artificial intelligence, the financial effects of marriage and cohabitation, crypto assets, the liability of platforms and other participants (“influencers”) in digital environments, and long-term contracts, among others.
A central activity of the conference, aimed at addressing these issues, will be the committees where various presentations will be given orally and debated, according to each topic. As a result of this discussion, conclusions will be reached regarding the main issues related to each of the topics raised.
Furthermore, the conference will feature presentations by leading experts in Argentine, Latin American, and European civil law. The topics will include “Law, Technology, and Business,” “Legal Vulnerability,” “Law in the Current Economic Context,” “Challenges in Legal Transactions,” “Current Issues in Real Estate Law,” and “Perspectives on Comparative Legislation.”

Student competition
The conference will feature three competitions for law students, who will be required to submit a monograph on one of the topics proposed by the thematic committees. Students from both national and international universities, public and private, are eligible to participate. A requirement is that they have the endorsement of a professor from their university.
