The bill the government submitted to Congress offers tax benefits for the development of technological and strategic industries, such as AI mega data centers. Unlike the RIGI (Tax Regime for Integrated Management), this initiative reduces the income tax rate to 15% and exempts 100% of exports and imports from day one. However, it does not include environmental requirements, unlike those in other countries in the region. According to Economy Minister Luis Caputo, “the scheme will attract industries that do not currently exist in the country.” Nevertheless, the opposition denounces the proposed system as “tailor-made” for Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.
