Good news is meant to be shared. María Sánchez , director of the Bachelor's Degree in Design , has been appointed to the National Academy of Fine Arts, seat number 11. Her appointment will take effect on October 12th of this year.

Itinerary 

María began her career with a degree in Industrial Design from the National University of Cuyo. But she soon established herself professionally in companies in the United States and Milan. Her initiative and love of Strategic Design led her to become involved with international design groups. The Memphis group in Milan, O2 International (the world's first eco-design group) in the same city, and the Metropolitan Design Center in Buenos Aires, among others. She also served as director of the National Endowment for the Arts.  

Since then, he has worked in both the public and private sectors, contributing his vision of Strategic Design and Product Design. This mindset expanded into his dedication to academia and, finally, in 2019, led him and his team in creating the Design program at our Faculty. He has led this program ever since.

He is currently president of the International Advisory Council of the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), Monterrey, Mexico.  

What an honor!

María will occupy the 11th Antonio Santamarina seat within the National Academy of Fine Arts, an institution established in 1936 by executive decree. Promoted from its inception by a group of intellectuals and cultural figures, it seeks to "contribute to the development of the fine arts in all its branches," conduct research, promote legislative projects, formulate cultural action plans, and other tasks the institution carries out at the federal level.
