FC DNA

For 30 years, we have formed a academic, professional and meaningful community that drives people to improve reality through their work.

Passionate

There are two driving forces behind us in this mission.

A passion for communication, design, marketing, and knowledge intertwined with technology, art, and culture.

The conviction of the potential of education, fundamental to the development of each person and essential for improving society.

Manifesto

As No.

We are not a building, we are a community of people. We're not perfect, we're human. We're not talkative, we're conversation starters. We're not inactive, we're strategic. We're not absent-minded, we're creative. We're not know-it-alls, we love to think. We're not demanding, we love challenges. We're not relativists, we're empathetic. We're not crazy, we're avant-garde.

Un yes strong:

-To the commitment to the co-creation of knowledge and its transmission;

-To the value of each person, their freedom and their ability to improve themselves and their environment.

-The conviction that it is possible to transform social reality, both locally and globally, through work.

-To a humanistic vision of the social framework and labor relations.

This is our DNA. So rich, so fresh, so new with each student who joins our community and who also makes FC's history, from the classroom to forever.

No telling without story

February 16th 1992
The first drop
The pioneers Daniel Diez, Gonzalo Peltzer, Damián Fernández Pedemonte, and María Amalia Caballero embarked on the adventure of forming the FC. They had teachers, they had students. A headquarters? At that time, they found an apartment at Juan de Garay 125, the birthplace of the Gloria and Éxito notebooks produced by the Gráfex firm, which had not yet completely dismantled. With Cristina Fernández Cronenbold at the helm, classes began. This is how Daniel Diez, the first dean of the Faculty, recounts: “That's where we started, on the sixth floor, with sixty students seated. Incredible!”

A 20-year wave
Six hundred friends attended the celebration for our two decades. We raised 58.000 pesos that night for the scholarship fund. The event was hosted by Federico Bötcher Sorondo and Manuel Izquierdo Brown, with remarks from Marita Grillo, then dean, and attended by hundreds of graduates. Fun fact? The iconic piece of the charity auction was a shirt signed by Leo Messi.

We moved to Pilar
We embarked on a new adventure. While two classes in the Bachelor of Communication program were finishing their studies at the Cerrito campus, we began teaching classes in Pilar, 50 kilometers from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. And yes, in a 96-hectare ecosystem, with nature, a hospital, the IAE Business School and the Austral Business Park. The challenge? To tame the new territory.

Thank you, Garay
The closure was needed before the demolition. We bid farewell to the building at Juan de Garay 125 with an epic graffiti campaign, just before the start of the World Cup. It all happened. Even a graduate from the second graduating class from Brussels sent two illustrations by legendary professors Gerardo López Alonso and Pedro Luis Barcia, which Enrique Ferrer Lavalle was responsible for capturing. So much creativity, so much gratitude.

The dream of Southern Design
New discipline, great team. From the heart of FC, a new degree program: Design, took shape. With María Sánchez as program director, we launched the program with 60 students. The goal? To train free and creative individuals capable of undertaking projects with a focus on the individual and a systemic perspective, impacting the region in which they work.
