This book critically evaluates the legitimacy of the doctrine of parental antitrust liability in the European Union from both positive and normative perspectives. Furthermore, it proposes a fully rationalized and viable plan for reforming this liability regime.
Invited by the IDC – Institute of Competition Law, Peter will visit the Universidad Austral to discuss the main concepts of his latest work and previous works, and will answer questions from the audience, both in person and virtually.
Professor Peter Whelan is Professor of Law at the University of Leeds Law School, where he directs the Centre for Business Law and Practice. He holds a PhD from St John's College, University of Cambridge, and is admitted to the bar in the United States. His work on competition law has been cited in judgments in Europe, Africa, and South America. He is a non-governmental advisor to the International Competition Network and a member of the United Nations Working Group on Transboundary Cartels. Peter has presented his research in more than thirty countries across six continents.
