As part of the South American Motorsport Festival, the TC2000, Brazilian Stock Car, TCR South America, Brazilian F4, and Formula Nacional races took place on October 4th, 5th, and 6th. 🏁

Industrial Engineering students, accompanied by Juan Cruz Fernández, Director of the program, toured the facilities of the Oscar and Juan Gálvez Racetrack.

The visit allowed them to learn about the logistics behind an international event of this nature. The tour began at the High Performance Training CenterThere, they were received by AAV Vice President Fernando Croceri, who shared details about the preparation behind a professional driver. Gastón Sousa, technical commissioner of the ACA's Motorsports Commission, demonstrated how a car's technical parameters are monitored according to the categories' technical regulations. Stephanie Maldonado, technical director of TC2000, was also present and provided details about the role of an industrial engineer working in motorsports.

Later, the students visited Race Control, the racetrack's operations room where race management and the CDA's sporting stewards make all decisions regarding race management, services, safety, and regulations. It is a restricted area where, through 32 cameras, the races are monitored according to international standards.

Finally, they spoke with Carlos Beltrán, racetrack inspector for the International Automobile Federation, who generously shared stories about his role and anecdotes related to motorsports, Formula 1 and racetracks around the world.

To conclude the tour, they visited the Renault TC2000 team, where Miguel Matos explained how a special race with a mid-race driver change is planned. He also elaborated on what a racing team entails, the number of people involved, the logistics, and the technical collaboration between the engineers and drivers. We thank its owner, Engineer Marcelo Ambrogio, for his willingness and openness in showing us a TC2000 car.

This activity allowed the Industrial Engineering students to learn about another field of application of their knowledge and expand the possibilities for development in their career.
