The Industry 4.0 Center of the Faculty of Engineering was created at the beginning of 2020, consolidating the actions that had been carried out by the faculty for some years.
This work, reflected in the co-organization of the country's first International Industry 4.0 Congress, the design of the methodology used in the Ministry of Production's National Digital Transformation 4.0 Program, and various publications and transfer projects, among others, allowed the Universidad Austral To position itself as a benchmark in the region. The Industry 4.0 Center seeks to actively collaborate in the development of an ecosystem made up of academia, businesses, government, and other institutions, as well as to generate spaces for exchange.
The Center's work is based on a holistic vision of Industry 4.0 and is primarily focused on analyzing the management and implementation of business-centric technology. It aims to work across three mutually reinforcing dimensions: research, technology transfer, and training. Its goal is to generate empirically based and applicable knowledge that develops digital capabilities in both individuals and organizations, thereby driving and supporting the region's digital transformation.
