We award a new WIATT scholarship

A new edition of Women in Aviation, Travel & Tourism, together with Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 , has concluded , and we already have a winner!

María Lourdes Filmann, from the province of Tucumán, is the recipient of the WIATT scholarship to study Engineering at the Universidad AustralThis scholarship was awarded after a rigorous selection process involving high school graduates from across the country. Juliana Yañez, María Angelina Zabalett, and Constanza Martínez Romero each won a 100% scholarship for their entrance course. 

In addition, all the finalists will participate in the General Manager for a Day experience at Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 : they will spend a day with a general manager, so that they can learn what it is like to be in a leadership position.

The Women in Aviation, Travel and Tourism (WIATT) program was launched in March 2019, and the 2023 edition marks its third year. The program aims to foster the professional development of women in the airline industry by providing training scholarships in careers related to this vital sector.  

The competition process consisted of several stages that allowed for the evaluation of each participant's skills and abilities. In the first stage, the applicants solved a practical case related to airport operations. Then, the ten finalists participated in an evaluation held at Aeroparque Airport, where they worked in a workshop proposing solutions for a specific case.

Also present were Andrés Lefler and Bárbara Dominguez from the Faculty of Engineering, members of the Admissions Department of the Universidad Austral and Agostina Vischi, winner of last year's WIATT scholarship.  

The Women in Aviation, Travel and Tourism program continues to create a positive impact in our community, building a culture that fosters inclusion and accelerates the professional development of women in the industry.
