Renewable Energy Regulation

Renewable energies in the international context. Essential guidelines for energy regulation at the international level. International regulatory experience relevant to the Argentine case. Electricity legislation and regulatory framework (Law 24.065 and complementary regulations). Evolution of the Argentine electricity matrix. Integration of renewable electricity generation into the Electricity Regulatory Framework: characteristics and main challenges. Regulatory framework for Renewable Energies: Promotion Regime, Laws 26.190 and 27.191 and complementary regulations. Tools of the Promotion Regime: tax benefits for supply (electricity generation from renewable sources) and consumption obligations for demand (coverage percentages until 2025). RenovAr Program. The Regulation of Renewable Energies and aspects of relevance to the project financing

International and national regulatory debates related to the penetration of renewable energies in electricity markets. In-depth legal and regulatory aspects of Project Finance and its challenges in the current context. Legal and regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and due diligence. Legislation and regulatory framework for distributed energy. Integration of renewable electricity generation and development of unconventional hydrocarbons (Vaca Muerta). Key regulatory issues. The Texas experience. Legal and regulatory aspects of the expansion of electricity transmission lines. Legal and regulatory aspects of energy storage and other new technologies, including international experiences.

The diploma program is offered in a format streaming, with optional in-person sessionsThis allows access to quality training with flexibility and without the need to travel weekly.

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Days of instruction: Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • Optional in-person sessions: 4 sessions on Mondays at the Cerrito 1250 headquarters – CABA
  • Possess a tertiary or university degree.
  • Provide proof of professional experience.
  • Possess knowledge of English for reading and comprehension of texts.

The Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Austral will issue the Academic Certificate of approval of the “Diploma in Renewable Energies” to those who meet the promotion requirements. It will be delivered in digital format.
