Close collaboration with companies allows us to boost industry development through knowledge and research, generating a positive impact on society. Within this framework, we participated in the 3rd edition of the Industry Summit 2023, which brings together leading companies in the industry.

Alejandro Chapero, Director of Technology Transfer and Postgraduate Studies at the Faculty of Engineering, Karina Cesio y Nahime Salome MansurThose responsible for Corporate Training participated in the Education and Learning Companies Roundtable, where they presented the work we do from the university in the areas of Austral for Companies and Technology Transfer.

From the Austral for Companies area, which we developed at the Faculty of Engineering, we provide a comprehensive service to companies, government, and institutions, offering internship agreements and benefits in employee training, research, technology transfer, professional talent development, customized training, and advice on academic offerings. Universidad Austral.

A learning organization fosters the learning of new work procedures and the introduction of improvements by creating a desire to learn and know in its employees, through training, motivation, and autonomy. The intelligent organization gets the most out of its experiences through a continuous and systematic learning process. In this sense, the Universidad Austral It plays a fundamental role as a strategic partner, through which the aim is to move from training to action.

Through direct communication with the company, we identify the organization's needs and analyze the specific challenges. Based on the identified objectives and needs, we then co-design customized training programs. And, together with the employees participating in the training, we develop a solution to address the problem identified in the initial stage. Finally, we support the company in a second phase of implementation and results monitoring. This back-and-forth between the university and the company always puts the person at the center.

On the other hand, the area of Technology Transfer aims to help organizations solve problems through the transfer of skills, knowledge, and technologies from our teachers and researchers. The main objective is to impact the community, not only through training people, but also through working with companies.

Impact through undergraduate and graduate scholarships

Alejandro Chapero also spoke about the commitment of the Universidad Austral with the students. He highlighted the wide range of scholarships offered by the university, which helps ensure that financial constraints are not a barrier to accessing university education.

There are over 4200 students, 28% of whom receive scholarships, and 51% of whom receive a discount or financial aid. This latter aid consists of a loan that students receive during their studies, allowing them to pay part of their tuition fees. Once they graduate and find employment, they can complete the payment for their studies.

In addition to student scholarships, we also have initiatives that provide companies with a return on their investment in training, for example, through tax credits. This way, they obtain not only an educational benefit, but also an economic and financial one.

The exchange and networking spaces with organizations allow us to better understand the needs of the industry and the challenges it faces.
