Gerardo is an Aeronautical Mechanical Engineer from the Aeronautical University Institute of the Argentine Air Force (FAA), Master in Business Administration from the University of Salvador and Deusto and Master of Science from the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT – USA).
He is a retired senior FAA officer. He developed his career from 1987 in the areas of aircraft production and maintenance, supply chain, and academia in different FAA units. From 2005 until 2013, the year he retired from the FAA, he held various executive positions, including Chief of Maintenance, Director of Logistics Planning, and Director of Research and Development.
He taught courses on Production Planning and Inventory Management at the Institute of Studies for Competitive Excellence (IEEC) and in 2013 he joined the academic area of the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Australwhere he also held management positions. In 2016, he was appointed by the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Production for Defense, serving as Director of Planning and Promotion of Science and Technology.
He is currently an Adjunct Professor at FIUA in the chairs of Operational Research and Operations in undergraduate programs and in the chair of Systems Dynamics in the Master's program in Operations Management.
Within his area of interest and research, he is interested in the development of simulation models for evaluating the medium and long-term performance of companies, industries, supply chains, industrial sectors, clusters, municipalities, and regions.
She is currently pursuing her doctorate by researching the impact of medium and long-term public policies on sustainable human and integral development at the municipal level through dynamic simulation models.
