Under the coordination of University Life, a few weeks ago, the Universidad Austral It became the starting point for two solidarity trips to different parts of the country, but united by the same spirit of service and personal transformation. On one hand, a group of students and graduates traveled to Mendoza in collaboration with Conin. Meanwhile Another group of students embarked on a journey towards El Bolsón., to work on a mission coordinated with ethe local hospital and improve housing for underprivileged patients.
Mariela Mucilli, head of Social Action at VU, pointed out that the objective of these proposals “is for each student to put their talents and initiative at the service of the community through volunteer work. This gives them the opportunity to develop a more comprehensive vision: work as a service with an impact on society .”
Mendoza
The participants carried out activities that promoted the integral development of families in the region.
Victoria Sisterna, just a few months away from graduating with a degree in Business Administration, became involved in the experience and emphasizes the value of being able to serve others. She especially appreciates the active listening involved : "It's incredible and admirable how they do everything possible to support their families despite the difficulties," she noted.
El Bolson
The group of students dedicated themselves to making improvements to the homes of underprivileged patients, responding to the mental health needs identified by the local hospital. This project continues to strengthen ties with the community, demonstrating the positive impact of university engagement.
Participation and impact
These trips not only represented an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of communities in need, but also a space for the personal growth of the students, who shared these experiences with students from other universities, thus enriching their interdisciplinary and social vision.
