Domingo A. Tarzia He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics (1972), a Bachelor's degree in Physics (1977), a Specialist degree (2007) and a Master's degree (2010) in Finance from the National University of Rosario (UNR), and Master (1977), Doctor (1979) and Habilitation (1991) in Mathematics from the Université Paris VI - Jussieu (Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France).

He began his university teaching career in August 1970, holding all positions until December 1990 up to Full Professor at the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Engineering of the UNR, where he initiated the Doctorate in Mathematics in 1983.

He is Vice-Rector of Research at Universidad Austral (UA) since January 2018 creating, among others, the UA research website, the teacher-researcher website, the annual research report since 2017.

He has been a Full Professor with exclusive dedication to the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Business Sciences (FCE – headquarters) Rosario) of the UA from February 1991 to February 2006, then continuing as a Full Professor with simple dedication.

He is a retired senior researcher ad-honorem of CONICET since May 2017 (with the beginning of the scientific researcher career in November 1983).

His research areas are: Partial differential equations, Free boundary problems, Heat transfer with phase change, Elliptic and parabolic variational and hemivariational inequalities, Optimization and optimal control, Numerical analysis, Corporate finance and Financial derivatives.

He is the author of monographs on scientific research; organizer and compiler of scientific conferences; and author of books. He has also authored more than 180 scientific papers published in peer-reviewed international journals, presented more than 380 scientific communications at various national and international conferences, and given numerous lectures, more than 60 of them abroad. He has also supervised 13 doctoral dissertations and 11 master's theses. He has taught more than 130 postgraduate courses.

He is the editor of MAT magazine (Universidad Australand associate editor of scientific journals. He has been a referee for numerous articles submitted to various scientific journals.

He is the director of the PhD program in “Applied and Computational Mathematics” at the FCE, Universidad Austral - headquarters Rosario (approved by CONEAU in Session 517 of 12/16/2019 and by Resolution No. RESOL-2020-663-APN-ME of the Ministry of Education of the Nation).

He is a member of the following scientific associations: UMA, AMCA, SIAM, AMS, ISAAC, AR-SIAM, ASAMACI. He served as president of the Argentine Association of Applied, Computational and Industrial Mathematics (ASAMACI) from May 2011 to May 2017.

He received the “Alberto González Domínguez” Prize in Mathematics -Year 1996- awarded by the National Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences, Buenos Aires.
