Environment

The University has made progress in reducing waste, separating it for recycling, decreasing and saving on printing, and measuring its carbon footprint. This includes reducing single-use plastics in disposable cups, planting trees, and recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), among other actions. International agreements guide us toward achieving our carbon footprint measurement and carbon neutrality goals. Other commitments, framed within SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, include the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Agenda, Race to Zero, CANNE, and METARED, among others.

Actions done

Waste separation

At the Pilar Campus, both inside the three buildings and in the outdoor areas, a rigorous waste separation system is in place, distinguishing between organic and non-recyclable waste. To facilitate this process, students and university staff have access to several strategically located recycling stations for depositing the different types of waste.

Reduced paper usage

From the University Life area, the "Sustainability Volunteering" was created, where a group of students from different majors participated in the Notes Recycling CampaignThe objective of this initiative is to promote the responsible use of paper and ensure its recycling in the most effective way, prioritizing the actions of Recycling and Reusing.
