Virtual Program | History of Classical and Contemporary Political Ideas

Start date:

Continuous
Duration: 12 Classes
Modality: Asynchronous
Location: On demand - Recorded masterclasses.

Presentation

Political thought is a meeting point for political science, philosophy, and history. From the moment one delves into its study, regardless of the perspective adopted, one cannot help but notice that those who thought about politics, even in the distant past, still have something significant to tell us today.

Indeed, considering the most important authors of political thought, as expressed in the great works they have bequeathed to us, is crucial to unveiling the fundamental problems, concepts, and categories that make politics intelligible throughout time and space.

In turn, this reflection proves essential to understanding the world we live in, marked by a growing complexity and interrelation of phenomena of diverse nature that constantly challenge our ability to "live together".

Course format

The development of the modules involves the use of all available tools to transfer the skills identified in the learning objectives. This will be achieved through virtual lectures where definitions and concepts will be presented, as well as filmed lectures supplemented with readings specially selected by the instructor.

Recipients

The Program is aimed at professionals and students of the humanities, politics, law and social sciences, as well as political and third sector leaders, trade unionists and the public interested in acquiring the necessary theoretical tools to interpret the problems posed by “the political”.
