We live surrounded by digital stimuli designed to capture our attention, in a context where artificial intelligence redefines not only how we work, but also how we think, decide, and relate to one another.
This transformation raises urgent questions about the so-called "economy of (in)care" and its impact on mental health.
This conference engages with the call of Magnifica Humanitas —the first encyclical of Pope Leo XIV, published in May 2026—which warns that technology is not neutral and demands that artificial intelligence be at the service of humanity, and not the power of a few.
What does the attention economy—powered by artificial intelligence—do to our mental health and our ability to make free choices?
