The educational methodology is based on the case method, in which the Universidad Austral She has been a pioneer in Argentina and in the Spanish-speaking world.
Through its use, the program seeks to develop the skills and abilities necessary for performance in public management, with a strong focus on diagnosing situations and designing solutions, with the power of analysis based on scientific rigor and depth, and developing the ability to solve management challenges naturally, competently, creatively, and confidently within the context of actors in politics, administration, and society.
Thus, the Master's degree exposes students to real-life cases, involving them in practice throughout the learning process.
Teamwork proposes, based on individual work, an exchange of opinions and points of view that provide the class with diverse interpretations of the problems raised.
Groups are formed by ensuring the greatest diversity of experience and background among each member, assessing what each member can contribute to the team.
To optimize group work, the required reading material for each class is provided in advance so students can prepare beforehand. With the material studied, the dialogue intensifies, and the class becomes a deep and focused debate that leads them to the solution of the problem, whether real or hypothetical, depending on the case being discussed.
The chosen methodology is also demanding for teachers, as it requires them to prepare materials and actively lead the class. Making the most of class time and academic time requires students to read and study the material and case studies beforehand.
The aim is to build learning upon the participants' experiences, allowing them to learn from both the previously provided material and the students' own analysis. The goal is to develop a synthesis of the opinions of the attending professionals and, naturally, the professor who leads the class.
The professors strive to involve as many participants as possible in the class, transforming it into a discussion of diverse opinions and a search for a solution to the case. They also moderate participation, giving participants the floor, guiding their interventions, asking questions, organizing comments, and contributing their experience and perspectives on the matter.
The classes conclude with a systematization of the conclusions reached during the study, even if these may be diverse and contradictory, with due conceptual specification of the topic covered.
Through the personalized academic advising system, a smooth relationship with professors is guaranteed. The goal is to help students in every way possible to improve their academic performance and their participation in university life.
