Presentation

Argentina's mining expansion depends on international capital and counterparties, and that requires professionals who are proficient in both the key transactions for structuring a project and the ESG standards that now condition any financing.

Argentina is at a critical moment of mining expansion, especially in Lithium (NOA), Copper (San Juan, Catamarca, Salta and Mendoza), gold/silver (Santa Cruz and potentially in Chubut) and rare earths.

These projects, which involve foreign direct investment, are structurally international insofar as they require a series of complex contracts with counterparties outside of Argentina (e.g., from equipment imports to offtake agreements to financing contracts), negotiated under global guidelines.

Furthermore, the success of mining projects depends on compliance with international environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards that condition their approval, construction and obtaining financing.

The program, with its multidisciplinary approach combining law, finance, economics, and other sciences, is launched as an introduction to these challenges. With professors who possess practical and academic experience in various countries, it offers a comparative approach in which students can learn about the main challenges facing the industry globally.

Welcome to a program designed to train professionals who structure, negotiate, and legally protect international mining projects, from exploration to mine closure.
