El Center for International Strategies of Governments and Social Organizations (CIG) He received the delegation from Shanghai, headed by its Vice Mayor, to promote international cooperation
Dr. Alfonso Santiago, Director of the School of Government, and Fernando Straface, Director General of the CIG, received Hua Yuan, Vice Mayor of Shanghai, to discuss cooperation opportunities between the Universidad Austral and Shanghai Institutes for International Studies.
For years, Chinese and Latin American cities have developed strong international relations and cooperative initiatives. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss global macro-trends relevant to the Asian giant and our region, the wide range of interactions between them, what challenges could foster joint leadership on global agendas, what opportunities for cooperation could be realized, and what role natural resources play in their present and future relations.
Similarly, the future of global cities will be shaped by a set of opportunities, risks, and challenges they will face. With a strong focus on attributes such as workforce talent, innovation and creativity, economic development, connectivity, and climate leadership, strengthening relations between the two could help solidify the leadership of Chinese and Argentinian cities on the global urban agenda.
