Through the signing of an agreement with the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), an institution that trains UN officials, the School of Politics, Government and International Relations of the Universidad Austral It has reached a new milestone in its internationalization strategy. Furthermore, along with four other universities from different continents, it will participate in the Mandela Project, an initiative inspired by the leadership values of the former president of South Africa, for the training of leaders who will drive social change.

La signing of the agreement It took place at the organization's campus in Turin, Italy, and was attended by Jafar Javan, director of the United Nations System Staff College (UNSSC), and Alfonso Santiago, director of the School of Politics, Government and International Relations of the Universidad AustralSigned on January 30, this agreement will allow for joint training activities between the two institutions for United Nations staff, as well as professionals and community leaders. The UNSSC has selected a small number of Schools of Government from different regions of the world with which it intends to carry out joint cooperation activities.
Since its inception, the School of Government has sought to train agents of change. In this sense, this partnership with UNSSC will allow the academic community of the School of Politics, Government, and International Relations to connect with international leaders and work collaboratively on global challenges.
Alfonso Santiago, director of the School of Politics, Government and International Relations of the Universidad AustralHe explained: “It is a great international recognition for the School of Government to have been chosen as an academic partner of the United Nations System Staff College to work throughout the Americas. They selected five schools of government, including ours, to work on each of the continents. Therefore, this agreement will allow us, through a learning platform, to expand all our research, teaching, and training activities to every continent, working with the best schools of government and academics from all over the world.”

The other universities that will participate in the program are: IE University (Spain), the University of Cape Town (South Africa); the National University of Singapore; and the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), in addition to the United Nations Training College.
