Jorge Argüello, new member of the International Council of Center for International Strategies of Governments and Social Organizations (CIG)He served as Argentina's ambassador to the United States (2011-2013 and 2020-2023), to Portugal (2013-2015), and to the United Nations (2007-2011). Ambassador Argüello is President of the Open Embassy Foundation, whose objective is to change the traditional approach to diplomacy, making it more participatory and ensuring that the international actions of states and international organizations are presented in simple and accessible language for civil society.
The International Council of the IGC is made up of experts in diplomacy and the internationalization of cities and social organizations from around the world. Its main function is to advise and support the IGC in its mission to provide comprehensive support to cities, provinces, regions, and the private sector in developing their international outreach strategies and producing academic knowledge.
