(UNTIL 2013 INSTITUTIONAL EVALUATION OFFICE)
Develop, through evaluation, a culture of quality understood as continuous improvement.
Generate information for decision-making
Describe the current situation showing the
Consistency or inconsistency between what was planned and what was actually achieved. Detect discrepancies or unmet needs, both within the university and in its environment or context of reference. This involves data collection and statistical processing (after determining the area to be evaluated—by the university itself or by MCE or CONEAU—the instruments and procedures), and preparing the report, with reference to the evaluation criteria derived from the quality standards.
Predicting outcomes based on diagnostic knowledge. This requires a certain level of evaluative research.
It consists of assisting, based on the diagnosis, in the development and implementation of efficient action plans (optimum time with available resources) that tend to reduce the discrepancies detected. It involves prior work to clarify opportunities for improvement and limitations (SWOT analysis).
Monitoring processes to guide their development toward meeting and aligning with the objectives set by management.
Administration of the university statistical information system and the construction of indicators.
Applied to Students, Graduates, Professors, Administrators and Employers.
Consequently, the evaluation will take into account the academic and support units that comprise it within this comprehensive framework. Therefore, special attention will be paid to ensuring an overall view to ensure that the institutional evaluation does not become a mere sum of partial evaluations.
Each of the fundamental aspects of the University will be analyzed. These units of analysis will be the following variables:
Beyond the demands of an external university policy, in the Universidad Austral Evaluation is considered a permanent, constructive, and participatory process in which the entire academic community, not just administrators, must be involved. It values evaluation as a powerful tool for developing an internal culture of striving for quality, understood as continuous improvement.
Therefore, all members of the University Community (administrators, students, faculty, non-teaching staff, graduates, and employers) will be invited to participate in the self-assessment process through surveys, interviews, and opinion forums.
Comparison of the quality declared in institutional documents with the perceived and suggested quality in satisfaction surveys administered to members of the academic community: students, graduates, faculty, non-faculty, and business and employer representatives.

The Institutional Evaluation of universities is a complex process that includes two phases: self-evaluation and external evaluation.
La Universidad Austral It carried out its first institutional self-evaluation in the years 1996-1997.
In 2000, the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU) conducted an external evaluation of the university, and in February 2002, final recognition was obtained by Decree No. 300/2002.
For each of these titles, you should be able to go directly to the explanation, which is detailed below:
