Presentation

El Department of Tax Law of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Austral organizes annually the Intensive Course on International Tax Law (CIDTI), aimed at Latin American professionals dedicated to Tax Law and International Taxation, with the aim of providing attendees with a updated and global vision of the main aspects of international taxation in our time.

In a field of academic excellence, the Universidad Austral It proposes intensive study in full days. The CIDTI professors have accreditation. professional and teaching career in Argentina and abroad.

Throughout its previous editions, the CIDTI has featured the participation of More than 1000 attendees from Ibero-American countries This course is for professionals working in law firms, international auditing, tax administration, and as independent practitioners. The course has a limited number of participants per year.

 

In-person edition

In recent years we have developed a face-to-face program under quality guidelines regarding Educational Innovation, so, with the return to face-to-face learning, the Universidad Austral has decided to partially resume in-person classes for the renowned Intensive Course on International Tax Law. CIDTI 2026 will take place in a in-person week and with exclusive content on the Virtual Campus.

Methodology

In an environment of academic excellence and with practical and participatory teaching methodologies, the Universidad Austral It proposes the study of international taxation in an intensive week, with a total student dedication of 65 hours.

Classes will be held from Monday, November 9th to November 13th, from 9 am to 6 pm. In addition, both formats will include exclusive content on the Virtual Campus and individual and group practical activities.

 

In-person Dictation

  • 1 intensive week
  • Exclusive content on the Virtual Campus: reading material for each week, discussion forums, practical exercises, audiovisual material, additional documentation and selected case law, etc.
  • Interaction and networking: The CIDTI fosters interaction between students and teachers through various means, both in and out of class. An essential component of this interaction involves assigning students to small groups of participants, each receiving exclusive support from an academic tutor.

  • CompetencesThe Intensive Course in International Tax Law aims to offer a learning environment where students develop the following general competencies:
    Competency 1: Resolves situations of international double taxation. Applies double taxation treaties and the principles and foundations of international tax law appropriately to each situation.
    Competency 2: Analyze and apply cases of international jurisprudence. Understand various conflicts that arise in international taxation and their methods of resolution.

Attorney Alejandro Messineo

Co-director of CIDTI

She has worked in all areas of national and international tax law, providing general advice and tax planning. She has extensive experience in international taxation issues and in representing taxpayers in tax disputes with tax authorities at various levels of government.

He has participated in the tax planning of various businesses and transactions, such as international financial operations, corporate acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations. He has also defended clients against tax claims brought by national, provincial, and municipal tax authorities before national and local courts, including the National Tax Court, Courts of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation.

As a specialist in national and international tax law, he has been recognized on numerous occasions by publications such as Chambers Latin America, Best Lawyers and Who's Who Legal.

He is a professor in the Master's Program in Tax Law at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Austral and Director of the Intensive Course in International Tax Law of the Universidad AustralHe is a member of the Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies (former member of its board of directors) and the International Fiscal Association (IFA). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Buenos Aires City Bar Association. He has also served as Argentina's National Rapporteur to the IFA (EILAT 1999), where he was also a panelist (Boston 2012). He regularly lectures on various topics in tax law and is the author of several publications.

Ms. Ariadna L. Artopoulos

Director of CIDTI

His practice focuses on business tax advice and planning, national or international transactions, as well as tax disputes and litigation.

She regularly advises domestic and international companies on matters involving federal, provincial, and municipal taxes. She is also frequently involved in the design and implementation of corporate reorganizations, investment projects, and financing.

He has solid experience in the application and interpretation of international double taxation avoidance and tax information exchange agreements, as well as other international instruments that may affect tax matters.

In litigation matters, he has represented and continues to represent important local companies and businessmen in complex tax claims and disputes resolved before the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, the National Tax Court, federal and local courts, the Federal Administration of Public Revenue and other tax agencies.


Dr. Fernando Serrano Anton

Visiting Professor
Professor of Financial and Tax Law at the Complutense University of Madrid and Jean Monnet Chair of the EU GreenTax program, with extensive experience in the design and implementation of tax policies, institutional and professional consulting, and academic leadership. My career combines over thirty years of teaching and research with significant involvement in public administration and consulting.
I have served as Director of the Cabinet of the Regional Ministry of Finance of the Community of Madrid, Member of the Municipal Economic-Administrative Court of Madrid, and Taxpayer Advocate for the City of Madrid. In these positions, I have promoted improvements in the relationship between the tax administration and the public.
A specialist in international and European Union taxation, tax governance, and taxpayer rights, I have led research projects funded through national and international public calls for proposals. I am the author of seminal publications and have served on the Standing Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Latin American Institute of Tax Law (ILADT).
I regularly collaborate with public bodies and private entities as a consultant and trainer, and I participate in national and international forums on the challenges of the tax system in contexts of digital transformation, sustainability and tax justice.
I advocate for a fair, simple tax system adapted to the challenges of our time.

Dr. Adolfo Iriarte Yanicelli

Visiting Professor

Tax Judge in the Province of Tucumán (Judicial Center of Concepción).

He holds a PhD in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, with a thesis awarded summa cum laude by unanimous decision and publication mention.

Postdoctoral fellow at the University of Zaragoza, having obtained the certification of postdoctoral specialist in Public Law.

He is currently undertaking a second postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Bologna, linked to the resolution of tax disputes in the digital age with a special reference to international arbitration.

He holds a Master's degree in Tax Consulting and International Taxation from the Pontifical University of Comillas – Madrid and a DEA (Advanced Studies Diploma) from the Complutense University of Madrid.

He is a Postgraduate Professor at the Universidad Austral and other universities in the country and abroad. He is a Professor of Tax Law at the Faculty of Law of the National University of Tucumán and at the Universidad Austral.

He is an active member of the Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies (AAEF).

He is the Coordinator of the Artificial Intelligence Commission for judicial management of the Supreme Court of Justice of Tucumán.

He was Vice Consul H of Spain in the Argentine Republic (2010 / 2018).

Daniela C. Rey is an attorney and partner in the Tax Department of the law firm Bruchou, Fernández Madero & Lombardi, specializing in international taxation. She has over 15 years of practical experience in tax matters.
Since 2017, he has led the International Taxation Commission of the Argentine Industrial Union. Since 2020, he has served as National Reporter for the IBA's Tax Committee. He is a member of the Argentine Association of Tax Studies and the Buenos Aires City Bar Association.
