Comparative Constitutional Law has recently taken on a prominent role and undergone a reevaluation, becoming not only a useful but also a timely and indispensable tool for Latin American legal practitioners.
Indeed, today, a theoretical and dynamic understanding of constitutional rights, guarantees, and institutions requires their evaluation not only from a national perspective but also from a comparative one. This requirement takes on an even more pronounced dimension in Latin America, where shared experiences are intertwined with common historical and cultural nuances, and where the regional human rights framework plays a significant role.
First, comparative constitutional law is a tool that offers new perspectives on understanding and developing each constitutional system in light of the experience and evolution of others, and their reciprocal impact. Much is learned about constitutional law by engaging in dialogue between the constitutional texts, jurisprudence, practice, and doctrine of the various countries in our region. This allows us to explore multiple perspectives and proposals for improvement, aiming to strengthen constitutional orders and provide them with the firmness and flexibility required to address the diverse conflicts that arise.
The program will be delivered virtually based on 16 weekly blocks of 6 hours each, which take place on Friday afternoons (from 15:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m., Argentina time), in the months of August, September, October and November.
This completes 96 hours of synchronous virtual instruction, which will be supplemented by 24 hours of asynchronous instruction. An in-person “International Week of Latin American Constitutional Law” is also planned for Buenos Aires.

The DDCL was a formidable experience, allowing me to learn in greater detail about the different ways in which countries in the region address common or similar situations.
