The new edition of the QS World University Rankings 2025 once again positions the Universidad Austral as the country's privately managed university with the best academic reputation and with employers.
Furthermore, Austral University is ranked as the leading privately managed university in the country in terms of sustainability., a recently incorporated issue in the measurement that seeks to measure the commitment of educational institutions to the environment, in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations.
According to Director of the Institutional Reputation Unit of the Universidad AustralDr. Julio DurandConsolidating our position in the employer reputation indicator positions our institution as “A benchmark for the quality and performance of our graduates in a wide variety of careers and professions. The professional bias of Argentine universities leads to a somewhat special perspective that is reflected in the rankings. In the case of Austral, employers recognize the outstanding differentiation of postgraduate programs.”
For its part, the rector of the Universidad Austral, Mag. Julián Rodríguez, considers it a significant achievement that, year after year, “The University stands out in various dimensions that are perceived as indicators of academic excellence. We have been achieving this systematically in recent years, gaining regional recognition that allows us to form collaborative networks and consortia that multiply the university's impact to better serve a society marked by tensions and inequalities.”
From the URI, Reputation Unit of the Universidad AustralVariations in the global ranking have been observed, reflecting methodological changes. The most recent has been the inclusion of Sustainability as an indicator of universities' commitment to the SDGs and climate change, among other issues. “Austral University is the first privately managed university in this indicator, which is still little addressed by the country's institutions, and reflects one of the institution's strategic priorities in the sustainable management of its University Hospital and campus in Pila.“r,” Durand points out.
Among other aspects to highlight regarding the university's performance in this new edition of the world ranking, at a general level, there is an improvement in the Faculty Student Ratio and Academic Reputation indicators, with increases of 26 and 40 points respectively.
There are no changes in the research indicators Citations per Faculty and International Research Network, nor in Employment Outcomes and Sustainability.
In recent years, the Universidad Austral It has been occupying prominent places in various world rankings, such as those compiled by the education consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds and the Times Higher Education (THE).
