Making a name for yourself in the world of journalism isn't easy. That's why I decided to ask for help. Fernando Ruiz, a professor of Journalism and Democracy at the Faculty. After that conversation, he invited me to participate in an interview with Miguel and Nicolás Wiñazki, along with other students from the Faculty of Communication.

The interview took place at La Rural during the Buenos Aires International Book Fair on May 6th, in the Cultural Space of the Ñ magazine of the Clarín newspaper. Joaquina Bogo, Martín Yankelevich, and I had prepared some questions. That day, Tomás Vio, head of Institutional Relations at Clarín, welcomed us at the entrance of La Rural and took us to the interview booth.

The questions we asked them covered three different areas: politics, journalism, and personal life. We talked about how they got started in their work and how they complemented each other. Miguel explained: "I'm his biological father, but I learn from him as a journalist. The problem is that he likes to write with the Rolling Stones playing at full volume, and that was difficult for me when we started."

Nicolás elaborated on the attacks he suffered for carrying out his journalistic work. “This government used all its resources to overthrow journalism, to undermine witnesses in cases. I suffered threats, but not enough to make me leave the country,” he stated.

They also discussed the role of social media and artificial intelligence in journalism today. Miguel commented: "Social media is like a treasure trove. There's never been so much information and sources, but you have to take the time to check them out."

What do you like most about Argentina? “Everything about it, it's an impressive country,” Miguel concluded. And of course, questions from the audience were also on offer. Some were asked by students from the Faculty's journalism club, who wanted to experience it firsthand.
