The final stage of the fifth edition of the scholarship program was carried out WIATT (Women in Aviation, Travel & Tourism) together with Aeropuertos Argentina, in which a young woman from Santa Fe was crowned the winner.
More than 600 female students in their final year of high school signed up to participate in the program. and the 10 finalists competed in a challenge in person at Aeroparque.
This program has federal representation, since girls from all over the country signed up. Students from Tucumán, Santa Fe, Corrientes, Saladillo, Mar del Plata and Pilar/Benavidez competed in the final.

The activity that the finalists had to solve consisted of the simulation "Operation Southern Storm". LThe participants took their positions at the Operations Control Center (OCC) and acted as the crisis committee of Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in the face of an unprecedented storm.
During five rounds, they had to make strategic decisions to stabilize the operation, managing an emergency budget of $7.000.000 and balancing four key indicators: Infrastructure, Human Capital, Stakeholders and Users.
After evaluating the participation of all the girls in the activity, the jury crowned Martina Bertolino as the winner. She is from Technical School No. 280 "Corbeta Uruguay", in Barrancas, Santa Fe, a town of 6000 inhabitants north of Rosario.
Martina demonstrated ingenuity and strategic vision, which every engineer should have, and thus became the winner of a scholarship to begin her studies at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Austral.
During the meeting, Juan Cruz Fernández, director of Industrial Engineering, had the opportunity to accompany the students during the resolution of the challenge and shares with us how rewarding it is to see them work with such enthusiasm.
“Personally, I am convinced that we are generating a real impact. Martina is a clear example of inspiration: Despite initial difficulties with artificial intelligence tools for generating images, he overcame his frustration with great determination, resorting to pencil and paper, ingeniously solving the problem freehand. capitalizing on the opportunities that arise when we combine resilience and creativity to face challenges".

Verónica Rodríguez Bargiela, HR Director of Aeropuertos Argentina, also shared her perspective on the young women's performance during the program: “At WIATT, we are delighted to continue providing opportunities for more and more girls to choose to study engineering. The 10 finalists are incredibly talented and have immense potential, inspiring us to continue promoting and expanding the program. Our congratulations to all of them, and especially to Martina.”.

Martina is the fifth young recipient of the WIATT scholarship, joining previous winners of the program. Trinidad Maydana, Costanza Martínez, and Agostina Vischi are Industrial Engineering students. María Priore, an alumna, is currently working at Aeropuertos Argentina.
This program not only ensures the recruitment of talent, but also provides opportunities and generates social and educational value. bridging the gap between academia and professional development.
We thank Aeropuertos Argentina for carrying out this joint work once again this year. And we congratulate all the girls who participated. The female talent in our country is very important, and through this initiative, we give them the opportunity to train and learn firsthand about an industry that is constantly growing.
