On September 24, 2022 the Universidad Austral He assumed responsibility for organizing the next National Civil Law Conference to be held in 2024.
The Conference was created in 1963 and has been held every two years since then, with a brief break between the V and VI editions.
This is the most important academic conference on private law at the national level. Through the contributions of leading national and international professors, it seeks to harmonize legal criteria to achieve the desired consensus; it carries so much weight that its conclusions are frequently used to support court rulings, inform legislative proposals, and inform scholarly work.
Taking on the organization of the National Civil Law Conference is a highly significant event for our University. This is especially true considering that by 2024, more than two decades will have passed since a privately managed university exclusively organized this academic event, a situation that occurred only four times.
“The designation is a very high honor, but at the same time a significant challenge: it is the most relevant scientific event in Argentine private law, bringing together the most outstanding professors from our country and even from abroad, since 1963, when the first National Conferences were held at the National University of the Littoral,” expressed the Dr. Ignacio E. Alterini during the closing of the XXVIII National Civil Law Conference.
We accompany the words spoken by Dr. Alterini, who will preside over the XXIX National Civil Law Conference, on the occasion of assuming the commission made by the Board of Directors of the National Conferences made up of the Directors of Departments and Institutes of Civil Law of 38 universities and, on a permanent basis, by those who presided over the Conferences on other occasions.
Words from Ignacio E. Alterini, Director of the Department of Civil Law, during the closing of the XXVIII National Civil Law Conference.
