Exactly 6 years ago, on December 2, 2016, it opened its doors Institute for Translational Medicine Research (IIMT Austral University/CONICET)The IIMT works to to promote the generation of knowledge and respond to the needs of a modern and constantly evolving medicine.
Created in 2015, as a dual-dependence Implementing Unit between the Universidad Austral and CONICETIts purpose is to create a research space from which to promote research projects in Translational Medicine.
Its general objectives are: to promote the Multidisciplinary integration of basic science with patient-oriented (clinical) research; to contribute to the advancement in the understanding of the causes and mechanisms of pathologies that affect human beings and promote the development of therapies that mitigate or definitively cure them; provide a space for scientists from different areas of knowledge to interact with healthcare personnel from different specialties; and promote research projects that involve the training of scholarship recipients, doctoral students and young researchers with a focus on applied medical projection topics.
In recent years, the IIMT has incorporated more researchers, increased publications in international journals, and strengthened its interaction with industry. Thus, More than 50 papers were published in indexed journals with an impact factor, which in 2021 reached 5.84 points.
