The 8th Annual Alumni Meeting brought together graduates from all majors and generations at the Pilar Campus to share a day that combined learning, networking, reunions and celebration.
The event, which brings together graduates from different disciplines and generations each year, had one purpose: to create and strengthen collaborative networks that will drive us to improve the world through research, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and support for the Scholarship Fund. In this way, we continue to strengthen the Austral Community.
Discussions on strategic projects
In the lead-up to the Meeting, discussions were held focusing on three key projects of the Strategic Plan: Research, Sustainability, and Entrepreneurship. Each of these panels featured the participation of leading experts and graduates actively working in these fields.
The Research panel was led by Juan Bautista Etcheverry, Vice-Rector of Research and Austral graduate; María Florencia Coronel, researcher at IIMT-CONICET (also an Austral graduate) and Reynaldo Rivera, researcher at FC.
The Entrepreneurship discussion included Ana Galiano, Vice-Rector of Outreach and a graduate of the University; Victoria Cerrano, Manager of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Laboratory; and Juan Cruz Fernández, Director of the Industrial Engineering program.
Finally, the Sustainability panel included Fabiana Vierheller and Mariela Mucilli from the Sustainability Management team, along with María Florencia Toledo, Katia Cammisa, Teresa Bosch, and Ignacio Trossero, Austral University graduates working on various projects, such as electronic waste, carbon footprint, and sustainable mobility. At this point, we highlight the partnership with the consulting firm Iterar, founded by Florencia Toledo, to measure the event's carbon footprint, reaffirming the institution's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
A magical and unforgettable afternoon
Barbara Kildal, a student from the Faculty of Business Sciences, opened the event, delighting the attendees with her guitar and voice. Then, in a relaxed conversation with Francisco Lindstrom, the event's host and a graduate of the Faculty of Communication, Rector Julián Rodríguez presented the main achievements of the past year and upcoming institutional projects, focusing on academic, technological, and infrastructural growth that will allow the University to continue its pursuit of excellence.
The closing of the day was led by “A la carta”, a band made up of Belén Pilara and Chiara Villena (Nutrition graduates); Mariano Grassia and Máximo Ritondale (Engineering graduates) and Florencia Reboredo (Psychology graduate), who added more joy to the reunion.
From the Office of Graduates and Professional Development, we are thrilled to be back together, to hear from you, and to welcome you home. The campus doors are always open: this community continues to grow with you.
