The Observatory of Argentina's Access to the OECD, recently created at the Center for International Strategies of Governments and Social Organizations (CIG) of the Universidad Austral, kicked off its "Dialogue Cycle" with an inaugural event on the OECD's work agenda for territorial development in Argentina.
This first meeting, held virtually on Tuesday, November 19, was moderated by Fernando Straface, Director of the CIG, and Agustin Grizia, Fellow of the CIG, and included the participation of José Antonio Ardavin, Head of the Division for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) at the OECD Secretariat for Global Relations, Alex Seemann, Policy Analyst – Regional Development and Multilevel Governance at the OECD, and a presentation by José Enrique Garcilazo, Head of the Regional and Rural Development Unit at the OECD.
José Enrique Garcilazo, with over two decades of experience at the OECD, has dedicated his career to promoting rural and regional development through strategic projects and policy initiatives that address complex challenges and foster inclusive and resilient growth. In his current role, he leads the OECD Working Group on Rural Policy, where he oversees key initiatives in areas such as forestry, regional innovation, urban-rural linkages, and rural competitiveness.
This first meeting of the series addressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between Argentine provinces and international organizations to advance inclusive and sustainable territorial development initiatives.
It also featured the participation of

This first event represents a solid starting point for strengthening collaboration between national and international actors towards a more equitable and sustainable future for Argentina's provinces.
