The welcome event for the selected projects to begin technological validation within the framework of [the project/program] was held at Estancia Las Cabezas in Gualeguay, Entre Ríos. Validagro, the Agro-industrial Innovation Hub promoted by Fersam Agroindustrial together with leaders from the agricultural ecosystem, technology and academia.

La Universidad Austral actively participates in this project through Center for Agribusiness and Food and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship LaboratorySupporting teams through strategy, entrepreneurial development, and business models. During the day, the winning ventures presented their proposals, toured the 18-hectare field where the productive validation will take place, and shared an exchange space with key players in the sector.

The five startups selected in this first stage were:

  • Cattle raising: develops drones with artificial intelligence to estimate the weight and count of livestock without the need to enter the chute, improving animal welfare and operational efficiency.

  • IAgroIt integrates and synchronizes dispersed information from sensors and platforms to facilitate more agile decisions and connected processes.

  • PastechIt combines satellite imagery, sensors, and AI to estimate forage availability and plan grazing with concrete data.

  • NineIt allows producers to generate their own evidence and make agronomic decisions based on real data.

  • FarmIt organizes the productive, health, and genetic information of each animal to transform data into impactful decisions.

ValidAgro It represents a strategic opportunity to connect innovation with real production, generating an impact on competitiveness, sustainability and the future of Argentine agriculture.

From Universidad AustralWe have supported Validagro since its inception, actively participating in the design of the call for proposals, the selection of the ventures, and providing technical support throughout the validation process. We contribute our expertise in business models, strategy and innovation applied to agriculture, with the aim that the solutions not only work technically, but are also viable and scalable in the market.

Furthermore, this participation allows us generate and systematize valuable knowledge Based on what happens in the field, strengthening academic training and the link between university, companies and territory.

This open experimentation space thus becomes a living laboratory for learning, evaluating and scaling high-impact business models with academic backing, which aims to transform agriculture through knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
