Authorities of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires and of the Universidad Austral They held a working meeting with the aim of deepening the institutional link and advancing a cooperation agenda focused on innovation, professional development and the design of public policies with social impact.
The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Universidad Austral located in Cerrito and allowed the identification of new opportunities for joint work, as well as consolidating the City's vision regarding the role of universities as strategic partners for social development, innovation and the international projection of Buenos Aires.
The City Government delegation was headed by Mariano Lomolino, Undersecretary of Institutional Relations. Universidad Austral Those who participated included Luis García Ghezzi, Secretary General; Gabriel Astarloa, Dean of the Faculty of Law; Celina Cantú, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and Director of the Master's Program in Public Policy; and Inés Laferrere, Manager of Institutional Relations.
Currently, both institutions maintain an active collaboration through various programs, among which the following stand out: Study BA, an initiative aimed at promoting academic internationalization and positioning Buenos Aires as a leading educational destination at the regional and international level.
Looking ahead, Austral University and the City Government plan to deepen this collaboration in key management areas such as health, education, applied research, and professional development. This agenda will enhance the university's academic and research capacity to generate evidence-based knowledge and provide strategic input for public policy design.
At the close of the meeting, the authorities agreed that coordinated work between academia and the public sector is a central pillar for the progress of the community and for building a more equitable society prepared for the challenges of the future.
