Regarding THE ranking
La Universidad Austral It occupies position number 27 and this year has climbed 17 significant places compared to last year, where it was in 44th place. In addition, it is the only Argentine university among the top 30 in the region.
The various rankings are constructed with some variations in criteria and indicators, assigning different weights to the components they consider when ordering institutions in the tables. “The Times ranking is interesting because it emphasizes the research dimension and also considers the size of the institutions, avoiding the bias toward size that is very pronounced in Latin America,” Durand explains.
Finally, the Academic Secretary adds: “By reducing the weight of self-reported factors, the Times ranking shows strength compared to other tables that rely excessively on information from scattered sources. Reputation surveys also carry less weight.”
