
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Emilio López-Gabeiras, together with the Rector of the Universidad AustralJulián Esteban Rodríguez Priore, carried out an institutional tour of Asia with the aim of strengthening academic ties and learning firsthand about trends in education, innovation and technology.
The first stop was at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. There, they were received by Vice President Dr. Louis Phee, Professor Victoria Leong (Associate Dean of the Graduate College), and representatives from various schools. During the meeting, they exchanged experiences on engineering education, research, and technological development at one of the world's most prestigious universities.

The agenda continued in India, beginning in Bangalore with a visit to Christ University, where they learned about its academic programs and educational approach. They then toured the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), an institution with over 130 years of history, renowned for its excellence in basic sciences and engineering. There, they were received by academic and international relations authorities, with whom they discussed interdisciplinary research and academic cooperation.

The tour continued in Ahmedabad with a visit to the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad), one of Asia's most renowned business schools, where they explored opportunities for collaboration in training, research, and industry engagement.

Once in New Delhi, they visited several key institutions within the Indian educational ecosystem. These included Jawaharlal Nehru University, where they were received by international authorities, and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi), a global leader in engineering education.
They also toured the University of Delhi, where they visited the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC). There, they learned firsthand about an educational model focused on project-based learning, applied to undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, with a focus on technology and social innovation.

During these meetings, very enriching spaces for dialogue were generated about the current challenges of universities, including the impact of new technologies on teaching and learning processes, as well as the well-being and mental health of students.

The tour also included a visit to Galgotias University in Greater Noida, where they held meetings with academic authorities to explore opportunities for collaboration in research, international programs, and joint development.
This tour of Asia helped consolidate the international projection of the Faculty of Engineering and of the Universidad AustralStrengthening ties with leading institutions and opening new opportunities for academic cooperation, research and innovation.
