The School of Politics, Government and International Relations (EDG) The first cohort of the program began last Monday, February 13th, at the Pilar Campus. Doctorate in Political Science (DCP)This is the highest academic title offered by the EDG in the training of scientific researchers in the specific area and thus consolidates the educational process of the entire training path in political science.

This first cohort comprises 12 professionals from Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, and Ecuador. The students were welcomed by the doctoral program authorities, the Director, Dr. Alfonso Santiago and the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Luciano Bolinaga. "The doctorate is the highest degree a university can award; the most important accreditation it can give of future PhDs' capacity for research and for producing original, profound, and well-founded work; that is the great objective of those who are beginning their doctoral studies in Political Science today […] And in a few years they will crown this effort, which they are beginning today, with profound, original, and well-founded research that represents a novel and creative contribution to political science.”Dr. Santiago expressed this while welcoming everyone present.

"Ability, enthusiasm and dedication,” Alfonso Santiago suggested as the three elements to achieve the goal: “As Nietzsche said: he who finds a why can bear almost any how; and in that enthusiasm and motivation that you have today, you will find the dedication necessary to sustain the effort required to pursue a doctorate."He concluded.

The doctoral program offers a common foundation in Political Science during the first year, followed by three specializations during the second year. Students can choose one of these specializations: Public Policy, Political Theory, or International Relations Theory. The PhD in Political Science provides excellent academic training in line with international quality standards and offers students personalized support through mentorship, complemented by thesis supervision.

We celebrate this launch as another milestone in the history of the School of Government!
