La Diploma in Petrochemical Business It proposes a perspective that goes beyond technical aspects: it allows us to understand How the petrochemical business works, its value chain, and the economic, commercial, and strategic variables involved in decision-making..

Furthermore, one of its main differentiators is its connection with the sector: the proposal is developed in conjunction with Argentine Petrochemical Institute (IPA®), bringing participants closer to the knowledge and experience of professionals and leaders directly related to the industry.
A training program designed for those who want to stop looking at just one part of the process and start understanding the petrochemical business from end to end.
The student may optionally take 2 free introductory leveling classes in Chemistry.
The diploma program consists of 28 classes, each lasting 3 hours, over 13 weeks. Some of these classes may be held in person.
The topics are divided into three modules, which are summarized below.
Module 1: The title is “Introduction to Petrochemicals, Raw Materials and Commodities”
“History of the petrochemical industry at the global and local levels, main raw materials and products, current trends in petrochemical demand and production, the challenges of the 21st century, elements of basic organic chemistry and the petrochemical tree. Synthesis gas. Olefins. BTX.”
Module 2: The title is “Main intermediate petrochemical products”
“For each of the main petrochemical products, topics related to their production and marketing will be developed, including raw materials, a simple overview of production processes and technological evolution, characteristics and uses, and their markets. Some of their value chains will be presented.”
3 Module: The petrochemical business and its context
Topics related to the typical operations of a petrochemical complex within the current social context will be addressed, including aspects such as industrial location, scale and technology, logistics, and how these factors are influencing different functions in the supply chain, as well as environmental protection and community interaction. Marketing and market issues will also be covered.
The program includes, in addition to classes taught by a prestigious faculty, some presentations by industry leaders to address current issues and enable interaction between students and business representatives.
The Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Austral and the Argentine Petrochemical Institute will issue the Academic Certificate of approval of the “Diploma in Petrochemical Business"to those who comply with the promotion regime."
