In our country, the education system , which includes preschool, primary, and secondary levels, coexists with special education . The word "special" denotes differentiated treatment: children and adolescents with disabilities who study—or wish to study—in Argentina are not treated equally or do not have the same opportunities as their peers. Although treaties, laws, and resolutions addressing this issue stipulate that everyone should receive fair and equitable treatment, guaranteeing a quality education , this is not respected in the vast majority of cases.
