Presentation

We know that violence is a growing social problem, and that, despite numerous efforts, calls for help and assistance are becoming increasingly frequent. At the same time, studies of the causes of antisocial behavior, which attempt to explain its roots, only serve to highlight the multifaceted nature of violence from a multidimensional perspective. This is why addressing and preventing violence are the focus of national and international organizations concerned with ending this scourge.

Both international organizations and human rights conventions uphold the duty to prevent violence and emphasize the need for a comprehensive approach to violence in its various forms. Thus, training on violence is presented as an essential tool for its eradication.

This Master's program is an academic proposal that responds to a growing demand for training, seeking to provide appropriate and comprehensive solutions for violence prevention from various disciplinary perspectives. It aims to develop the skills and abilities necessary to address diverse risk situations, with a focus on preventing personal and social harm. It offers an effective and broad preventative approach to major social sectors such as children, gender, disability, and the elderly—groups that are particularly vulnerable to the various forms of abuse and violence. The proposed Master's program seeks to provide interdisciplinary training tools to professionals working in diverse social contexts, offering a holistic view of violence, its causes, effects, spheres of development, and various intervention strategies for prevention. Thus, it presents a proposal designed to prevent the structural entrenchment and perpetuation of violence.

The Master's Program in Prevention and Management of Violence in Interpersonal Relationships aims to provide a solid foundation in theoretical, methodological, and analytical issues, fostering critical, creative, and comprehensive thinking for decision-making. This training is designed to cultivate practical management skills that enable effective prevention and, where necessary, intervention in diverse situations of violence.
