Alfonso Santiago, director of the School of Politics, Government and International Relations, and Fernando Straface, director general of the Center for International Strategies of Governments and Social Organizations (CIG), signed an agreement with Francisco de Santibañes, president of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI), to promote cooperation between both institutions, strengthening their research, dissemination, and academic exchange capabilities. Francisco Resnicoff, Senior Fellow at CIG, also participated in the meeting.
One of the key components of the agreement is to promote the internationalization of governments as an engine of subnational development. In this regard, the CIG, which functions as a research center within the orbit of the School of Government of the Universidad AustralThe CIG provides comprehensive support to governments and social organizations in developing their international outreach strategies and in producing academic knowledge on the internationalization of cities, regions, and the private sector. The CIG's activities are carried out along three lines: training and capacity building, research and promotion, and technical assistance.
“We are very pleased to formalize the work of the CIG and the School of Government in this agreement with such an important institution as CARI. Our goal is to support cities and provinces so that international strategies become the driving force behind their development, and in this sense, CARI is a key ally,” explained Fernando Straface, Director General of the CIG.
