Center for Regulatory Quality
The Regulatory Quality Center of the School of Government of the Universidad Austral It works to improve the quality of regulations and public policies. It was founded to generate and enhance knowledge focused on the design, implementation, and review of public policies, the optimization of administrative processes, and the analysis of the impact of regulations. The CCR seeks a multidisciplinary, evidence-based approach oriented toward public innovation.
Its main tasks are research and training activities for all actors – public and private – involved in the field of regulation and public policy.
The quality of regulations is directly related to the effectiveness of a government and the well-being of its people. One of the main challenges in this area in Argentina and in the countries of the region is finding effective and creative solutions that transform reality for the common good.
With an administrative state increasingly assuming regulatory functions and impacting all spheres of life, it is necessary to improve the quality of government. To meet this challenge, the CCR aims to:
- Conduct accurate diagnoses of existing problems and the areas where regulatory quality can have the greatest impact.
- Develop innovative, evidence-based proposals that adapt to the context and possibilities of society.
- Progress in the design of effective regulations and public policies for current problems.
- Train and empower public and private stakeholders to make effective and informed public decisions.
- Excellence: inspired by the spirit of the Universidad AustralThe CCR strives to ensure that each of its projects has the highest quality, trying to achieve a balance between the formal, the substantial and the practical.
- Innovation: In promoting development it is necessary to have a culture of constant innovation and a critical spirit that allows us to question the status quo seeking creative and scientifically robust optimization alternatives.
- Evidence: Evidence must be central to the processes of diagnosis and development of quality regulations and public policies. The creation of a "culture of evidence" is essential for streamlining decision-making processes in the public sphere.
- Impact: The CCR seeks to ensure that its projects have a transformative impact on reality. To this end, it strives to develop proposals that adapt to the context and combine in-depth academic analysis with strategic criteria.
Multidisciplinary approach: To have a comprehensive understanding of the problems, it is essential to approach them from a multidisciplinary perspective, assuming the subordination of knowledge and taking into account the contributions that can be made from different sciences.
