Academic/Unit: Dolores Dimier de Vicente, Lorena Bolzon.

Argentina is undergoing a profound demographic shift: the birth rate is registering a marked decline that impacts all levels of society. Between 2014 and 2022, according to the Observatory of Human Development and Vulnerability of the Institute of Family Sciences of the Universidad Austral (UA), births fell by 36%, from 777.012 to 495.295. This phenomenon is also reflected in education, with a significant reduction in initial and primary school enrollment.
