In a disruptive world, the region is consolidating itself as a land of opportunity.

In March 2021, the Suez Canal was accidentally obstructed due to a poor navigational maneuver by an Evergreen vessel. This resulted in a queue of 320 ships and losses to international trade estimated at US$10 billion per day, in addition to a potentially disastrous environmental impact due to the thousands of cattle that would have had to be abandoned for lack of food and water. Cattle carriers typically only carry about 20% extra capacity. Fortunately, this did not happen.
