The purpose of the Program is to study of the performance of the Argentine Supreme Court from its origins to the present day. The approach will be taken from a historical perspective, examining in a concrete way what role our highest court played in the development of the Argentine political and institutional game.
You will also learn about the political function and the different institutional models which the highest constitutional court has adopted in its various stages. Each stage will be analyzed historical, political and legal context, the biographies of its members and the main rulings.
The Program is inspired by the collective work directed by Professor Alfonso Santiago (h): History of the Argentine Supreme Court, Marcial Pons, 2013.
➤ To gain in-depth knowledge of the actions of the Argentine Supreme Court in each of its stages.
➤ To learn about the most significant jurisprudence of the Supreme Court in its 160-year history.
➤ Understand the historical context in which the main Supreme Court rulings are issued.
➤ To learn about the profiles of the judges who were part of the Supreme Court during the development of their institutional life.
Four-hour classes will facilitate the exchange of opinions among participants. Information on practical cases will be prioritized.
